Our curriculum is based on the systematic approach of Beijing Dance Academy.

Cora Lazalde Director / Instructor - Chinese Dance
is a certified Chinese Classical Dance teacher, and received her dance diploma from Beijing Dance Academy in China. She started her dance training at age 3, and studied ballet, Chinese dance, and modern dance with Yang Su Zhen Dance Conservatory under Su Zhen Yang and Yu Ling Du (National Taiwan University of Arts, Dance department). Cora has attended summer intensive programs and been coached in Classical Chinese Dance and Han Tang Chinese Classical Dance (Ancient Chinese Dance) in Beijing Dance Academy.
At age 17, Cora started teaching Chinese Dance, and her very first choreography received 1st prize in Chinese Dance category in High School Dance Competition in Taipei Taiwan in 1997; Cora and her students were also invited to perform on TV shows. In the United States, Cora also had her ballet training with Carolyn Anderson Barnett, Alexi Zubiría, Regina Zarhina and Mikhail Tchoupakov. She also has attended many world well known master class workshops such as Vladimir Tsal from Mikhailovsky Ballet. Cora also co founded the Utah Chinese Dance Association in 2012.
Chang Liu Instructor- Chinese Classical Dance
Received his BFA in Chinese Classical Dance Performing in Beijing Dance Academy in 2012. Change has danced with Beijing Youth Dance Company while studying in Beijing Dance Academy, and then joined the PRC Air Force Art Performing Company. He has won the award in Chinese Classical dance in both 9th and 10th Taoli Cup. Chang was top 20 in So You Think You Can Dance China in 2014. He is currently working on getting his master degree in Modern dance from University of Utah.
劉暢 - 2012年畢業于北京舞蹈學院中國古典舞表演專業,在學期間參與北京舞蹈學院青年舞團, 而後任職于中國人民解放軍空軍政治部文工團。 2014年受聘任教于湖北職業藝術學院舞蹈系現代舞及流行舞教研中心主任。曾獲第九屆桃李杯舞蹈比賽中國古典舞群舞表演一等奬, 第十屆桃李杯中國古典舞男子青年組表演三等奬,浙江衛視“中國好舞蹈”舞蹈比賽人氣學員等。
Sophy Lu Instructor - Technique/ Modern Dance/ Kpop
Sophy was originally born and trained in Taiwan. She has been dancing hip-hop and modern dance since 2007. Her hip-hop and modern dance experience has been supplemented by training in Chinese dance, ballet and jazz. She is currently studying in Utah Valley University for a BFA in Modern Dance and Dance Education, and will be graduating in the spring of 2016. Besides dancing, she is also a certified 200 hours yoga teacher.
Sophy was selected as a member of Utah Urban Dance Organization in 2012, and later continued her training with professional hip-hop choreographers in UVU Hip Hop Dance Company, MOS.A.I.C in 2013. She has also competed for many different dance competitions. Her first dance crew, Low Profile, won second place at the 2013 UVU Best Dance Crew. In free styling, Sophy has made many appearances as one of the Top 10 finalists in many different All Style battles. Sophy has started teaching KPOP and Chinese dance with Salt Lake Chinese Dance and enjoys sharing her experience with her students. Her work includes technique training, personal movement development, setting solo and choreography for competitions and performances.
CHING-I CHANG Instructor - Technique/ Chinese Dance/ Modern Dance
originally hails from Taiwan, where she started her dance training at a young age. She has performed internationally in major cities, in Taiwan, Canada, Ireland and the United States. She has worked with Gesel Mason Performing Project (Mason/Rhynes Productions based in Washington DC), Bill Young(White Space with Christy Harris), Maurice Fraga, Loco 7, HT Chen & Dancers, Kyle Abraham, Michel Kouakou, Yung-Li Chen, Kiori Kawai (Purring Tiger), and the film endeavors of Marta Renzi. She was on the roster at Punchdrunk’s Off-Broadway hit production Sleep No More, and joined Susan Marshall & Company for their 2012-14 season. Currently she is pursuing her master program at University of Utah Department of Modern Dance. Ching-I is also the co-artistic director/choreographer of Tipsy Point Projects with fellow artist Kuan-Yu Chen. And she loves bananas.

Jiamin Huang Guest Teacher- Technique/ Classical Chinese Dance
studied Classical Chinese Dance and received her BFA in Dance Education at Beijing Dance Academy. Jiamin Huang had been teaching at Beijing Dance Academy before she moved to the United States. She earned her MA in Modern Performing & Choreography from Brigham Young University. Jiamin is currently teaching at Depatment of Dance in Brigham Young University.
